Weekend to End Breast Cancer 2006
We made it all 60 km and managed to raise a total of $6075! So thank you everyone for your support and your donations!
5300 people showed up to walk in Toronto and all together raised $17.2 million dollars, a Canadian record!
We had an amazing time through the weekend and we already signed up to come back next year, with the goal to get $12000!
Here are the pictures that we took along our way:
The opening ceremonies

Starting out on the walk

The end of the first day at the tent city where we stayed over night - 26 km to go!

The first night, where after walking 34 km we got on our feet again to dance

Some of the "Boobs on bikes", motorcycles that drove around the route honking to encourage the walkers

Getting coffee and breakfast on the second morning - its freezing!

The bagpipers who saw us off on the second morning

Pictures from the pit stops along the way, where you could get water, snacks, medical help and take bathroom breaks

Stopping for lunch in a park - 10 km to go!

Victory beer at the Beer Gardens for Cancer Walkers - 5 km to go!

After we crossed the finish line and got our victory shirts - 0 km to go!

Heading into the closing ceremonies

I'm sorry that these next pictures are so dark, but these are the closing ceremonies. These two are of the flag entering which was signed by all of the walkers and volunteers.

Most of the walkers were given a blue victory shirt but those walkers who were cancer survivors were given pink shirts. In an emotional part of the ceremonies all of the suvivors walked in.

Thank you again to everyone!
